Default Dec 2008 issue of Sport Aviation

Last month I looked at the Sport Aviation magazine and asked VAF about the pitot tube sticking out of the nose of the RV-12. This week on page 46 of the magazine. They show a picture on the upper left of a Superior Extreme 360 engine. Look at the top right corner of the pic. My question is the following: Is the gentlemen using an oil filter as a oil/air separator?

The information that I post is just that; information and my own personal experiences. You need to weight out the pros and cons and make up your own mind/decisions. The pictures posted may not show the final stage or configuration. Build at your own risk.

Looks just like an oil filter. I wonder if an oil filter could be used as an air/oil separator. Sure would be less expensive.
