Default Bendix AV8TOR GPS

Just saw this in my latest AvFlash. Has anyone from this group reviewed this unit?
I am curious as to how it would stack up against the Garmin 496? It is certainly more economical!
Comments...?

If you do a search in the GPS forum, I think you'll find what you are looking for.

Todd,
I guess that I am still a rookie on this forum, as I cannot seem to find a "GPS" forum. My forum listing begins at "Test/Misc" and ends in "product review" which seems like a logical place, but there is no listing for GPS.
Sorry to be technologically Amish, but can you help a guy?
Thanks

No problem. It sounds like you are only looking at the general forum. Try backing out to the Van's Forums. Look at the top of this thread near the top of the screen (scroll up if you need to). You should see this (you can just click on these ae well):
VAF Forums > Main > RV General Discussion/News > Bendix AV8TOR GPS

Just click on VAF Forums and it will show you every forum available.

Default flying mag review

Here's a review that was done by Flying Magazine's Robert Goyer:

He liked the unit, especially at that price.

Note that Garmin has just offered a $300 rebate on the 396. Still $400 or so higher than the AV80R with weather, but a more reliable platform in my opinion.

I can't stand electronics that lock up or reboot. My AV80R did, as did the one(s?) Aviation Consumer sampled.
