engine block ground location
Where is the preferred location on the engine to attach the ground cable?

What engine do you have??
Newer Lycoming's have a big 'ol bolt hole near the dipstick tube boss for the large gnd wire/cable connection. Remember, this wire carries the starter's return currents
|

It's an overhauled O-320. I don't think it's a newer one...

I've always used the closest bolt/stud/nut on the back of the engine case that had a good connection to the case. I'll be interested to learn if that's a problem.
