Default Problem Fixing Loose Stick

I have one of the Otto Military style grip sticks and at 1200 hrs got quite loose and needs to be replaced (there is a story here). It appears that this grip was surplus (as evidenced by all the wear and tear) and as orignally installed it was stripped for the first few threads.

Anyway, I managed to get the thing apart though and got to the last piece of the puzzle. On the inside of these things all the wires come to a little blue 'plug' that is captured with a split ring. You can just see it in the images. Problem is with the ring out the blue 'plug' still won't slide out ether way. I've put lots of force on it to no avail.

I have spare everything except the center plug and I really don't want to cut or resolder wires. At this point I think I can take all the pins out (is there a pin extracting tool for this like for DB9/25's) or I could carefully cut the housing in half.

There must be an easy way to do this.

Chuck
