Default Oil cooler Line Routing

I'm connecting the oil cooler lines on my 6. The cooler is behind the baffles. What is the normal way of routing? Does the oil coming from the engine go into the bottom of the cooler or top? The bottom is my guess only so it gets the air out easier. Radiators on cars usually have the hot water going to the top first. Does it really matter? Any ideas? Thanks

Hot oil FROM the engine goes into the BOTTOM of the oil cooler. The out-put (top port) of the oil cooler is directed back to the oil return fitting on the engine.
