Default kt 76a question

Starting work on the speghetti(wiring). I have a used KT76a with tray and connector. I don't have a clue about hooking up the wires that are used with the connector. I have the pin out diagram but I think I must need an installation manuel. HELP? Randy

The pin out should be good enough in this case...

http://www.aeroelectric.com/Installa...6A-76C-78A.pdf

Power - Ground

14 volts to pin 11, no connect to pin 12
Ground to pin 1 and pin A

Data lines A1-A4, B1-B4, C1-C4, D4

Just connect to the corresponding pins on your altitude encoder.

Panel lights

Pin 3 to ground, pin 2 to your panel light dimmer output

Leave pins 9, 10 , F with no connection.

Interestingly, there is no switched power for the alt. encoder, so you will have to power that up seperately from your avionics bus.

Hope this helps....

Default Thanks Gil,

That information is what I needed. Can you tell me what fuse size is reccommended for the 76a. The wire run will be less than three feet. Randy

Spruce has it as a 1.8 Amp device

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...ransponder.php

...so I would use a 3 amp fuse.

22 g would be fine, but I like 20 g for ease of handling. Use red for power and black for your grounds, and any future fault finding will be easier...

Bendix info here... also says 1.8 A
