Default UV Smooth Prime - Quantity Needed

I'm starting the glass work on my -8a and have pretty much figured out my initial shopping list. However, I'm still undecided on how much UV Smooth Prime to order. That stuff costs big $$ - I want to ensure I have enough to do the job,but don't want to end up with a bunch of unused cans.

How much is adequate for application by a fiberglass newbie on a -8A?

Don't know the answer, but I'm on my third qt and have the wheel pants to go. It depends on so many variables that I really think there is no one answer.

My cowl was just awful with pin holes but I heard the newer ones are better. I used a quart and a half on the cowl, but again that's me. Also, depends on how much waste you have.

If I were to do it again, I would skim coat the really bad areas with diluted resin, forcing it in with a squeege and then UV Prime. Mine is a 7A and the cowl was shipped about three years ago.
