Default Slick mag torqueing secret

Can someone tell me the secret to torquing the drive gear on the impulse coupling mag?

No secret that I could find. Since the gear is driven by a key on a tapered shaft, the nut just holds the gear on, and a cotter pin keeps it from backing off. Just tighten the nut up to 120 - 180 inch pounds and so the hole lines up with the castle nut.

Default Need to touque the impulse coupling mag.

Thanks for the reply Larry,

Yes the 4370 mag has a tapered shaft with a key and tourqing is stright forward.
However, the 4373 with the inpulse coupler has a stright shaft with no key.
The gear is keyed to the top of the coupler and when you try to tighten the nut, the shaft will turn and you can feel the spring tension inside the coupler.
I'm not sure how to hold the shaft to get the nut tightened.

Well, vise grips are out?

Kidding.

I'm sure you can figure something out. Remember just get the nut tight so the castle nut lines up with the hole. I could not get a cotter pin in mine and ended up using large safety wire.

Default Mag gear

I used two pieces of wood and placed the gear in a vice with the wood pieces to protect the gear.
