Default Interior spray gun

How about a question from a repeat offender?

I will be painting the interior of my RV-7 at some point in time this winter. I need to buy a new quality spray gun (I still have my old, big, clunky 1qt suction gun). I need something maneuverable and lighter of course. I thought about a quality touch-up gun and or maybe a small gravity feed gun.

What have you folks used and do you have any recommendations. I will be using Jet-Glo's Jet-Flex interior polyurethane.

Doug

PS. I am also in the process of refinishing my battered gear leg fairings of the RV-4 and will use this gun for that also.

Doug,

For the interior I use a Sharpe MGF with the 3M PPS liner system. The cup/liner is sealed and you can paint upside down with the gun, after the air is drawn out of the bag. It works fantastic for the inside of the airplane.

The 3M PPS cups are the best thing since sliced bread, and I used them even with cheap harbor freight guns.

In fact I wouldn't bat an eye about painting the interior with a cheap HF detail gun with a PPS cup. I honestly can't tell much difference between cheap HF guns and my expensive Sharpe guns.

Default spray gun

Doug,

I was told about a Kobalt gun with 8oz swivel cup for $39.00 at Lowes aviation dept. I bought one and used it to paint my interior parts, not QB, and loved it.

I use an 8 oz. touch up gun with the trigger on top. It will get into some pretty tight corners.

I did, worked fine. A swivel air line fitting lets you keep the gun fairly upright.
