Default Tip: Temporary Wiring Runs

While routing wires it's sometimes desirable to try out different paths without having to commit to drilling holes for supporting clamps. Here's what I did. Get some of the not-so-sticky blue painter's tape, some plastic cable ties and some of those little peel-and-stick cable tie pads. Put a little square of the blue tape wherever you want a cable anchor and then stick the peel-and-stick gizmo on the tape. It sticks plenty good but the blue tape will peel right off without taking paint with it. If you're careful you can reuse it several times.

Steve,

That is a GREAT idea!

I have seen local builder's RV-6 and his wire looms are HARD to BEAT!

This little tidbit will help me get to his NEAR PERFECT results!

Thanks!

CJ

Lightbulb Another easy thing to do...

Use multiple 2 turn pieces of spiral wrap to hold your temporary wiring runs together in a neat bundle. These can easily be 'opened" to add more wires as you add equipment.
They will keep the wires in nice even bundles ready for that final lacing/tyraps, just them throw away as the final laces/ties are installed.

Use in conjunction with Steve's original idea...
