Default Chicagoland Gyropilot says Hello!!!

Hello,

My name is Matt and I am currently a gyroplane pilot based at Lansing Municipal (IGQ) near Chicago and am becoming infatuated with the RV brand of aircraft. I have a couple hundred hours in gyroplanes and am looking for the next toy. At the young age of 27 I am very motivated to continue further in to the world of aviation. Hopefully I will have my PPL by Dec-Jan. The RV-4 seems like it is within my budget and has the ability to get me outta here on those freezin' A$$ Chicago winter weekends. The cross-country capability is the primary reason I like the RV... but I would like to loop and roll her along the way. I would very much like to get a close up look at one. I am by no means a builder, but rather a pilot and am not looking to build. Overall I just wanted to say hello and invite others to visit our forum at www.rotaryforum.com and check out our side of the experimental community. I am looking forward to learning more about these aircraft.

Matt
This explains why Ron was wanting to know if you are selling your gyro. I live in west central ILL. and fly a gyro and want to fly in the winter and do cross country trips a lot faster and land on my 1600' strip with a plane. So I am building a RV 7and it is a lot different than building a gyro. I have flown in a RV 6 several times and can say it responeds just like the gyro. What I mean is the control input are quick like a gyro. Of course I am used to flying a 172. I would like to say this the RV comnunity and forum is better than any forum you will ever read. Good luck on your venture their is a lot to learn and many good people in the RV forum that can help you out.

Default RV's

Matt,

I am at Morris C09, and this weekend we are having a Young Eagles Flights so I will be around all day. We have 2-3s, a 4, a 6, a 7, and an 8 in morris. I don't know who will be around besides myself, but I would be happy to give you a quick ride if you come by.

Default Morris

If the weather stays ok I'll be down to Morris with my -8 too. I'd be available to give you a ride.

Pete - we still need to talk about houses!

John

That sounds great!! I am pretty excited. Very generous people you are. Does not look like the weather is gonna hold out unfortunately. I will keep my fingers crossed though.

Larry, thanks for the compliment... I love gyroplanes and just need another freedom machine like an RV in my hangar.

Matt, Poplar Grove, IL (KC77) is a great place to get to know RV's. I'm not sure who you would call there, but the FBO could give you some info. Tail draggers everywhere! A very active airport, kinda close.
