Special Award to RV-6'r Mike Thompson

IN Praise of Mike Thompson
For all SARL members who were not at or aware of an award made at the Aug 23,24 AirCap 200 in Wichita, KS.
A special award was created and sponsored by Arthur Alvis, COMM-Tech Communications Technologies....Arthur is a racer who could not fly due to recent injury. He gave a beautiful trophy and $200 cash to an outstanding individual who had done something special, above and beyond etc etc for racing....Of course, I said it had to go to Mike Thompson....
Just want you all to know that we got Mike some recognition for being the founder of SARL and doing it all.

You can get an idea of what Mike has done for cross country air racing at www.sportairrace.org. He has made cross country air racing on a regular basis, with centralized coordination of races, point standings for annual awards and speed records a reality.
