Default Fuel valve cover

I used the Andair fuel selector valve and the fuel valve cover plate does not quite fit unless I make some cut outs. Has anyone else run into this problem and do you have any pictures or ideas?

This is the best pic I have. As I recall, it wasn't a problem.

Default Fuel Plate Cover

I have the Andair fuel selector and on mine, it is only supposed to fit one way. I probably don't completely understand you question and if that is the case, excuse my density. I would make sure by rotating it that you have the right holes lined up.

Mine fit fine without any modification. Make sure you have it in the right orientation. Check the little instruction book that came with it only if all else fails!
