Default Fiberglass Canopy Skirt Question

I'm about to fabricate the rear skirt of my 9A slider. I bought some Rutan BID and carbon BID from Aircraft Spruce and plan on laying the 1st layer with the the Rutan BID followed by a layer of carbon and than 2 more layers of Rutan BID.

My Questions.
1. Since both the Rutan glass and the carbon are both BID, do I need to cut the strips on a 45 degree cut?

2. Is the way I plan to mix the Rutan and carbon BID a good choice? I'm trying to keep it strong and stiff, but yet keep the thickness to a minimum so to better blend with my side "metal" skirts, which actually came up really good.

I would appreciate any suggestions or comments!

Thanks

Default Sounds good

That layup is fine. Do them all at one time. This is not a structural part like a spar or cap so no need to do them on a 45. This is an excellent lay up to give you the strength yet be light. I don't think you need to go four layers. Glass, carbon, glass would probably be more than adequate.
