Default securing baggage - tie downs ?

I have the Classic Aero interior package in the baggage compartment. I need a way to prevent baggage from flying around. I was thinking of some kind of a cargo net stretched between the seat backs and the aft bulkhead to act as a "lid" on the cargo area. I looked into using the cargo net from my Honda Odyssey Van but it is too bulky. Any suggestions for something to buy off the shelf? Any pictures of similar installations would be great too or other alternatives.

Look in the motorcycle stuff. There is a small bungy net I was on the rear of my bike which should fit perfectly.

Default Tie downs

Look in the motorcycle stuff for the removable tie downs thatVan offers for $25 Bucks for 1/4th of Van's price. Found mine from an E-bay Store in Florida. Can't remember the name offhand.

The anchors the previous two posts are talking about are called, "Ancra" anchors. That should help your search.

Default Baggage cover

Mine is from the folks in Texas...having a senior moment on the name (well-known). It snaps along the bar that the seats leans against and is attached on the rear baggage are cover in the back. It hides things and acts as a shelf if you need it.

These are like the ones Van's have, but at about 1/4 of the price...plus I like black!

Set of 4 is about $50. Run a bungee cord or other tie down strap between 'em and you're done! When you don't need them, the rings come out quickly and you can leave them in the flight bag or tool box.

Cheers,
Stein

After looking these for a while I found better name and trademark for them VersaTie. The proper product from the would be VT-1000.

Anyone considered having aluminum tracks at corners of the baggage compartment (from bottom to upwards)? With net that would allow set it to any level and have more or less stuff at there?

Tracks like this from http://www.americanamart.com/images/VT-TRACK-3LG.jpg

Default Baggage Tiedowns

Hi Andrew,

Many years ago (previous century) I bought a set of the 'Ancra' tie-downs for the back of my truck to tie-down my motorcycle. Excellent product and they worked GREAT! However....

About a year ago I bought the same (or so I thought) 'Ancra' tie-downs with plans of installing them in the baggage compartment. The base was still an aluminum alloy, but the removable portion was cast steel and quite heavy with six of then on-board (one in each corner and two along the center). I may have just gotten a bad "cheap version" though the price certainly didn't reflect that. I eventually abandoned that method.

After doing some research here on VAF, I used some these from Pit Posse which are quite light and come in various colors. The rails mount on 1" centers and an AN509 (or is it AN508) screw works great.

This is how they turned out. Thought I had a picture with all of them in the baggage compartment.

I still have the flexibility, but now I've something that might rattle and/or jingle. If I remove then, then that means I need to store them somewhere. Not sure if I like that idea or not.

On the bike, I used a set of plastic loops with an integrated stud:

They are light, don't rattle, and don't corrode. I may still switch over to them in the future but I don't know if they'll screw into a -3 nut plate or not. If not, I'll stay with the Pit Posse method.

Good luck
