Default TKM Comm

I have a TKM comm in my -6 that has never worked correctly since I bought it. It is an MX11 and the squelch stays open all the time. I have already returned it to TKM 3 times. It still isn't right. I have a difficult time getting any response from TKM. They answered a FAX one time. They never answer the phone or return a message. Has anyone else had this experience?

Have you adjusted the squelch via the trim pot on the front of the radio? Its a bit sensitive....

Any queries I've made have been through their aol address which is tkmradios@aol.com. Dale has always replied the same day.

I rearranged my panel so I no longer have the TKM in the panel but its been trouble-free. One thing I did not like about it was the fixed squelch.

I do have the repair manual and its quite detailed with test procedures. Any avionics shop with the manual would be able to work on it.

Regards,
Bob

We've had really bad luck with their radios (MX385's mostly) in the flight schools airplanes where I instruct.
