More than a century ago two bicycle mechanics used a water cooled engine to get off the ground. This was the original USA homebuilt. Now almost every body flies around with an aircooled engine. Not knowing these folks before today http//www.liquidcooledairpower.com from Hermosa Beach, Ca sell a kit to convert a o360 or o540 lycoming to a liquid cooled engine. They claim almost 20 more hp on a 360 with a 30 lb penalty. Check them out

I posted about this company SEVEN years ago on this site (well, Doug's Yahoo groups before it became the forum it is today.) Anyway, nothing has changed in those seven years. The website hasn't even been updated in almost five years. Every so often someone on this forum mentions something about this company and then they find out there's not much there if anything. Back in 2001 after reading that Dick Rutan had flown with the cool jugs, I contacted Dick and he told me to stay away from them. I have.

and found just what I expected. Very old website living on a server somewhere. Google maps shows the address in a residential section of Hermosa Beach. The California Secretary of State shows that the corporation is still "active" but that just means someone has filed forms.

A little due diligence should be accomplished before posting things like this.

Maybe we should go beyond looking at reworking what was accomplished 100 years ago and think outside the box! Who knows, maybe we could figure out that we don't always have to stick with 100 year old technology to be safe and efficient.

With this in mind maybe we should think about this idea:

Cooljugs has been around for awhile, but nothing ever seems to change from them, same old offerings, too high a price. The product doesn't seem like a bad idea.
