There is a very long thread on the AOPA forums about building your own. Several people have done so and like them a lot. Apparently they are capable of going thru a lot of ice, but do a good job. I'll try to find it and link it here. Of course you will need to be a member of AOPA to access the forums.

If you google it, you will find plenty of sites documenting the build. Easy to do.
