Default Reality Check

I was wondering how many times the book, manual, blueprint, diagram, etc.. doesn't match the real building world. Our problems discovered might help others getting ready to cross that bridge.

I'll start it off with 2 that only cost me way too many hours worth of sweat, frustration, and search on VAF.

#1 - Slick Mags (Unison brand). Cap rotated 90 degrees so #1 didn't match diagram. Reality check - Cap has #1 stamped on it (you'll need a mirror if the engine is mounted) and plug nuts are stamped with proper position. Turn the book 90 degrees and look at the position.

#2 - Plane Power alternator (60amp). Connector plug diagram wires labeled 1 2 3 on my models diagram. If yours don't match then do a reality check - my wires should have been labeled 3 2 1. Trust the plug according to the company and use the trusty Sharpie to relabel the book.
