Default How many quarts of oil on the new Superior sump?

Hi.

I've a Superior IO-360 and have replaced the "plastic" Sump with the their new alu-sump.

The oil drip stick was trimmed in the bottom end per instructions.

After this trimming, the 4-6-8 qrts marks on the dipstick are incorrect, so which markings scould I use now?
Maybe add 2 quarts value on the dripstick readings?

Thanks.

We were told "no change"... i.e. just read the dipstick...

Default Dipstick Markings

Alf -

I'd recommend you remove the original markings and make new marks.

I used a fine file to remove the majority of the marks, then chucked the dipstick in my drill. A little emery cloth made short work of what remained. Polished with a ScotchBright pad and cleaned it well to remove all traces of anything abrasive.

It should be the same.... it's a shallower, but wider sump at the bottom, the tapering to the same shape up top... right?

Use the same marks. No change other than it's a shallower sump.
