Default Audiobooks for flight instruction?

Hey you CFIs! So to supplement my PPL home study I thought I would surround myself with everything airplane. At work I like to listen to live ATC feeds to get accustomed to the "lingo". And I thought during my daily commute I'd listen to any audiobooks that might be out there. I have a subscription to http://www.audible.com and have a bunch of available credits but I can't find anything on there. Any other ideas?

You might try looking at this site [ http://avnac.com/ ]. They have all sorts of aviation DVD's to rent. I don't know if any are audible books. You might also try [ http://www.gleim.com/ ], they have PPL audio as part of their instruction.

I have no experience with it, but I know Rod Machado puts out his Private Pilot Handbook on CDs or MP3 (DVD). Look here.

There are also some great podcasts that might help... Most are entertaining, but for how-to topics I like The Finer Points. Also available on iTunes.

Default there are a couple

UND has aviation training podcasts (I am using Itunes, no link - sorry)

and I've used The Finer Points as well. Both have been good to listen to.

and both have some video as well, I believe, though I haven't used those casts yet.

Like folks mentioned above, Rod Machado is the only audio one available that I know. I havn't used it personally, but I had a student use it and he said it was really boring

One more note about listening to ATC. If I were you I would be listening to a class B rather than your typical class D because then you are getting much better examples rather than some of the typical GA non-standard stuff you hear at a lot of Class Ds. Maybe also try a class C because then you get the pros mixed in with the not so pro and get examples of what not to say along with examples of what to say.
