Default UMA tach drive connection

For those of you that have the UMA tach:

I connected the transducer to the tach drive of my Lycoming D1A. The knurled knob is snug where it screws on to the tach port but there is a lot of movement in and out of the transducer housing-is this normal? Seems way too loose. Am I missing something?

All the UMAs I have used are that way. They worked without problem.
