Default Kick Plate size?

I'm thinking of making a pair of aluminum kick plate s to install below the rudder pedals in my -9. Since I'm at home and the plane is 35 miles away at the hangar, could someone tell me what size to make them?

Thanks!

I bought a pair of stainless scuff plates from Cleaveland Tool Store, they measure 5 1/4" by 8" and appear to be just about right.

Default re: kick plates

In my 6A after I installed my carpet, I was looking at various kick plates that were available for purchase. Most you had to rivet on or install with velcro. It was suggested to me to cut/use an old piece of plastic carpet protector. Those things you place under a desk so your chair rolls smoothly over the carpet. Have all those little gripping nibs so it does not move. I am at least trying this for the time being. I simply cut off the end piece that went under the desk area. So far seems to be working.
