Default Tip: Headset Socket Enclosures and Position

I just installed the headset mike/phone sockets in a pair of Radio Shack 3" x 2" x 1" ABS "project boxes" - less than $3 a piece - and mounted them at the rear of the armrests as shown below. Wires will run under the armrest and up through grommets into the boxes. Tough, insulated, light, cheap, look neat and will protect the connections. Hopefully the position will be convenient too. I had to drill a few holes and remove some internal PC board mounting details from inside the boxes with a sharp chisel.

Default Jacks Source?

Jim,
Where were able to find the correct jacks for the mike and headset plugs? Particularly the mic jacks. They seem pricey at some of the regular outlets here.

I like this location better than in the middle. My personal preference, not technically superior in any way.

Thanks
