Default Question about FF-705 aluminum breather tube

Can someone tell me what size and wall thickness the aluminum breather tube is?

I'm piece-mealing my FWF and $29 from Vans seems like a lot for what this is.

Thanks,
Mark

The Vans tube is bent at the bottom to clear the firewall flange and engine mount and flared/belled at the top to mate with a standard auto engine rubber beather hose so perhaps that explains the price. Other wise it looks like a 1/2 aluminum tube.

Default Data

While searching the forums for breather examples, I came across this and have the tube in hand to provide dimensions. BTW, This FF-705 and the NAPA 9816 provided by Vans will not fit my M1B install. Not a complaint really. Out of the whole kit, the pile on non-used stuff is mighty small. I may be able to modify the breather parts to fit.

My factory Lyc IO-360-M1B came with a 5/8" 45 deg hose fitting. The Napa hose is 3/4" ID and configured to accomodate a straight 3/4" hose fitting on the engine. Obviously can change fitting. We'll see whats best because that not my only challenge.

Anyway, FF-705 is 3003 5/8" OD .035" wall. It is custom bent on both ends and mandrel expanded at the top end to 3/4" OD to fit the Napa hose.
