Default rv4 accident

The Bonner County Daily Bee reported the occupants to be,Matthew Giles,32, Vernonia Ore. and passenger Gary Harkins, 39 Columbia Ore. The flight originated at Scappoose, Ore. Info at our Sandpoint airport is that he probably was unfamiliar with the airport and tried to land from the south of
which is hard to find the runway in the well of the tree line around the airport.
A eye witness saw them make a last minute 90 degree bank as they came across base leg and he saw the runway and the plane imediatly dropped to the ground 100 to 200 yards from the south end of the runway, the normal way to land is to come in from the north over the lake of which I have done several times.
