At least this one managed to fly for 48 minutes on one charge, and this is a huge step compared with previous gliders. Those who are familiar with model airplanes probably remember electric model airplanes some 20 years ago: it was either gliders or underpowered and way too heavy GA models. Today electric model airplanes are quarter scale Extra 300's with a thrust to weight ratio larger than 1.0
