Default Traveling to the Bahamas

My buddy and I are planning our first flight to the Bahamas in April. I've seen a few previous posts regarding trips by others to the Bahamas, so I am looking for advice, recommendations on places to stay and see, along with things to do. We would like to fly to some of the out islands, any recommendations?

Thanks in advance for the info,
Butch

Default Hi

Hi Butch!(by the way great name)
A couple of us RVers are planning a trip out to Treasure Cay around Sun n Fun(April 10-13 for the trip) and you would be welcome to fly over with us. The documents required are easy to get on this site year just search for "Bahamas Documents".
Also Treasure Cay Resort offers a 20% discount to pilots
Just shoot me a email if you think you might want to fly over with us!

Default It is a neat experience

There are also books on it but am not sure if you have to buy them with so much on the internet.

My one trip to North Eleuthera for two hours did reveal that it may be expensive.

If you are an AOPA member you can go here for a wealth of info: http://www.aopa.org/members/pic/intl/bahamas/

I also highly recommend the 2008 Bahamas & Caribbean Pilot Guide. You can find it here: https://www.pilotpub.com/readmore.aspx

Default Bahamas

I am going in March. it will be our 3rd trip. When we go we rent houses from people. You can find such rentals on
http://www.vrbo.com/

It works out great because you have all the eminities of home such as washer and dryer which makes packing alot easier. This year we are staying in eluthera.

this is our second trip to Eluthera. One thing to consider is what kind of trip do you want. If you are used to having a lot of choices of activities, bars or resturants then you will want to stick with Naussa or Grand Bahama. I personally like the laid back and slower pace of the out Islands.
Our first trip we stayed in Elbow Cay which is off of Abaco. We rented a golf cart to get around the Island. Yes it was that small. The larger islands you will want to rent a car.
Get the book "a pilots guide to the Bahamas" It will show you all the forms and tell you a little about the different islands.
Have fun
Chad
