Digitrak servo drag.

I hooked up the elevators for the final time today and noticed there was some drag from the Trutrak servo. As you move the stick you can feel the stepper motor breaking through each 'step'. It is very slight, but there is a definate bzzzzzzzz, if you understand me.

Two questions:

1. Does this spoil the trimability of the aircraft in practice.
2. Is it noticable otherwise when you are hand flying.

It is the standard set up for a -4 or -8.

That's the same thing I noticed after I installed my TruTrak roll servo in my -7A. I was pretty disappointed to lose the silky smooth control movement. However, in flight, it isn't noticeable and I was more than happy to add the autopilot capability.

I'm glad this was posted as I have found the same, just delayed the post. After connecting the motor to the aft fuselage bell-crank, there is a noticable difference.

Yes, I'd agree that it does feel somewhat like a buzzz when moving the stick.

Thanks Bruce, you'll have to look me up next time you're out here in Redmond.
