Default cutting panel for D-100

I'm going with the GRT 4000 sitting under the Dynon D100 in a 9A tip-up. It will be centered relative to the pilots' view, Is there an minimum distance that should be maintained below the top of the panel to the cutout for the D100? I guess I'm thinking about how the tip-up drops behind the panel..
Thanks
Ron

I kept my equipment about 1 1/2"s below the arc of the panel top. Otherwise you may hear crunching noises when you lower your canopy.
