cutting rear tip up window

How much margin did most folks leave around the rear window edge as they trimmed it to final fit.....I'm guessing 1/2 to 3/4 inch???

I left at least an inch.You want as much as possible so the holes you drill are as far as possible from the edge to help prevent cracks. Also clean and polish the edges and holes to remove stress risers that will produce cracks.
