Default Elevator trim

Hello folks I have hit another wall in my rebuilding project. My rv3 is one of the earlier ones and it uses a flexiable cable to control the position of the ele trim tab. With a flexable cable I am assuming that there shoud be some type of device that keeps the trim tab cable in tension. Does anyone have any expierence with this type of setup I sure could use some help.
