Default Adapting 1/8" Flare to 1/4" Pipe...

OK, question for folks who may have a bin of AN fittings laying around....

In re-working the panel on Louise's older -6 (serial number 4), the original fuel pressure gauge is coming out, and we're going with an EFIS transducer. the 'ducer has a 1/4" male pipe thread. The current fuel pressure gauge is plumbed off the fitting right at the carb, and comes off with a flex line that looks like it has flare fittings about the size of a primer line - probably 1/8" flare I'd guess. It goes to a bulkhead fitting on the firewall, then there is a brass line that runs from there to the old panel gauge. I'd like to connect the 'ducer to the end of the flex hose, and not add a Van's gauge manifold,. as all the other transducers are already plumbed without one....anyone got an idea of how to connect the two using reasonably standard hardware?

Paul

Paul,

Would one of these work?

http://www.wicksaircraft.com/catalog...289/index.html

or perhaps an AN894-4-3D such as found here?

I, too, would like to avoid the manifold so need to go from NPT to the Van's hose. Looks like a combination of AN816/822/823 and AN910 would work. Unfortunately I can't find AN910 in steel. Alternatively, is there a single fitting that would go from male NPT to female flare? And why the heck aren't these transducers shipped with flare connectors anyway?

Why not print out the web link Rick supplied you and take it over to your local industrical hydraulic supply house? I'll bet they have it in steel. If you live in a rural area, perhaps an internet search will yield what you what?

PS A quick Google search for AN894-4-3 found it here. Delete the letter D in the part number to specify steel.

AN894-4-2 was found here

For the local hydraulics emporium...Until you've seen the array of fittings they normally stock you haven't seen anything...This assumes you don't mind steel of course.

If I was doing the airplane again they would be providing every hose and fitting on the airplane, except for the large heavy ones!

Thanks, they also have the AN910. The 894 doesn't work for this application; straight is not the same as NPT. But I can make it work with the AN910 now that I can get it in steel. I appreciate the link.
