Default Wire type question

Ok, this may be stupid, or just ignorant . . .

But I'm considering wire types. I have a ready, wide supply of wire meeting or exceeding SAE J1128 (c-l PE, 125 Deg C cont rating) and I'm wondering . . .why not? I know the abuse it takes, that it's self-extinguishing, no known arc tracking issues, blah, blah.

Or am I being cheap at the risk of life and limb? Oh, and will the FAA freak?

Yes!

Cost of wire in the finished price of the plane will likely be less than 1% of the plane.

The thinner AC grade wire will be lighter than typical wire and will add less weight and bulk. The finer stranding will less likely break from vibration.
