Question Rivet derection

HS-409 to HS-403 (main spar webs to main spar on the HS) is the MFG head inside the HS or is the MFG head outward? I am riveting right now and the answer from Vans was "The rivets face aft on the HS-409" ??? I am riveting so the MFG head is on the outside, is this correct?

If you are riveting with round head rivets, the direction doesn't matter. My preference is to put the shop head on the side with thicker material. This results in less deformity, but officially there is no spec.

An important consideration is to put the head on the side that's easier to drill out the rivet if you mess it up!
