Default static ports

Has anyone used anything OTHER than what Van put in the kit for a static port. I have to re-do the static system on my plane, and will probably need to replace the stock static ports. (They appear to be round head rivits with holes drilled through, and they appear damaged on the inside of the fusalage.)
Anyone have some pearls of wisdom to lay on me before I crawl back there and get this done?
TIA
DM

Dennis,

Here are the ports I am installing:

I don't know how well they work, but they do look nice.

If anyone has a report about the Possumworks static ports, I would like to hear them.

Sure they have, check out this search on "Static" & "Port":
http://www.vansairforce.com/communit...archid=2652564

Everything you could ever want to know and more on static ports. After market suppliers, location, leaks, etc.

Default static ports

Thanks everyone.
WAY more info on this site than I ever imagined. ;-) Sounds like they (the static ports) are not busted, they are supposed to look like that. LOL.
I'll get back in there and see what I've got, and try to make the stock configuration work if at all possible.
On the down side, my plane will not be as fast as I thought it was. ;-)
Thanks again,
Dennis
