Default certified CS props

If I found a certified CS prop from say any old Piper/Cessna/etc that was the correct length, would it work in the speed range that RV's operate? I don't know much about props, but being variable pitch, looks like it would work fine so long as the length is correct, and on same size engine...opinions?

Default Cert. C/S props.

My prop is from a 200hp Piper Arrow. Works great for me!
