Thumbs up Flight Gear: Footwear

I like aerobatic flight and responsive rudder so my footwear has typically been the tennis shoe/sneakers thing. The problem is, those sneakers have become clunky as 'H' recently and I wanted something light, firm-fitting, flexible.
Here's what I did two years ago and because I am so pleased with the results, I wish to share.
Having tried boxing as a dumb/enterprizing yoot, I recalled the terrific fit of those lace-up boxer shoes and so I went to the Title boxing website and found leather shoes. When they arrived (I bought one size 10 for warm weather, one size 11 for heavier socks for cold wx), I took them to my shoe repair guy and had the wedge sole, softest rubber Vibram, installed. Those boots are actually quite good-looking as well as light, flexible, comfortable. All that for about $70/a pair.
Thought I'd share this... FWIW.

Those RED ones would look just fine in my -4. As you said, a bit pricey.
