Default RV-8 Rudder Rib Double Drilled

Some how my set up slipped and I ended up with two set of holes in the rudder rib. I'm going to talk to Van's tomorrow about replacing the rib. I've been considering putting a doubler on the aft side of the rib, with the rivet mfg head on the doubler. If you look close, you can see the mis-positioned holes under the heads of the rivet heads. These rivets are just inserted to describe the situation and that the repair doubler would go on this side. The angle doubler, FL706 is on the opposite side.

Has anyone else used this repair?
