Default My throttle knob spins...Does yours???

Group:

Before I remove my throttle cable, I thought I would check in and see if anyone else has noticed this.

I have the stock Van's throttle cable installed in my 6A and I am noticing that the knob, including the shaft that is attached to it, can spin around with little to no resistance. When first installed, it would spin around rather easily, but now it REALLY can rotate. This of course while it is unlocked.

Not knowing what it looks like inside the cable, I am concerned that someday I am going to reduce throttle only to have a remake of a scene from the movie Airplane occur and get a hand full of throttle knob!

Anyone else notice this? It definitely is not rotating at the carb end of the cable, so it has to be where the rigid shaft attaches to the flexible cable. I notice no slop when increasing or decreasing throttle. Just that the knob rotates freely. For reference, I have about 90 hours on the airplane.

Thanks in advance folks.

Regards,
