Default Flap TE Bend

I saw from the Yahoo group that Van's now admits a problem with flap TE bends and is replacing skins. I had the same problem with my -4 flaps, but I solved it by getting new, non-punched end ribs. I just let the skins seek their natural position. I can see this will cause the flaps to be slightly longer, but I assumed I can fix that by positioning the piano hinge. Should I have ordered new skins instead?
