Default Crow Harness

Greetings all,
I tried to post this earlier but I guess it didn't make it. If it did disregard.
Since I have been installing Van's 7-9A crotch strap kit in my 6A, I decided to go ahead and get the seat belts. Based on what I had read I ordered Crow 5pt harness with 3" webbing and the "Y" shoulder system. It came this weekend and the quality of the harnesses are excellent.

However, I forgot to ask about weight and I was surprised to find both sides weighed 8lbs 6oz. I don't want to scrimp on safety items but this seems like a lot. I may have them redone with 2" webbing if the adjusting hardware is smaller. Anyone weigh any other harnesses from Van's, Hooker, etc.?
