Jacksonville, Fla ordinance overturned!
KEY COMMITTEE VOTES 5-1 TO REPEAL JACKSONVILLE ORDINANCE
EAAers hopeful of full council vote Tuesday
Chalk up another positive development for Jacksonville, Florida-area EAAers and homebuilt aviation enthusiasts. The city's Land Use & Zoning committee voted 5-1 in support of City Bill 955, which would repeal the city ordinance that prohibits parking, storing, repairing, and operating flying craft and airboats in residential districts. ?One more meeting and vote to go,? said Milford Shirley, EAA Chapter 193 president who?s been aviation?s point man in efforts to overturn the ordinance since it was enacted in June 2006. ?We?re optimistic that we?ll have good news to report next week.?
Regards,
