Thumbs up Lodging at Airventure?

Hello All,

Just got my July schedule modified enough to attend Airventure. Will arrive Wednesday and plan to stay through Saturday. I've always stayed at private residences but wondering if anyone has a better suggestion. Of course the hotels and dorms are packed and I'm not much on camping. If anyone has any great ideas, please share! Thanks,

Marty Esther

No replies - looks like you'll be camping like me!

I also looked into all options, and found everything within 100 miles booked. I think unless you have some friends in the right places (or start waving tons of money) you'll have an impossible time getting a place close.

I spoke to a gentleman at the recent Texas RV Fly-In, who has attended Airventure for many-many years in a row. He flies an RV-6A out of Waco, TX.

Anyway, he told me that on two different occasions, he has simply showed up at the dorms without a reservation, and somehow managed to get a room both times. I am not sure if it was no-shows or what that allowed him to get a room, but hey, it may be worth a shot?
