Default Oil Tempertature Sender

I have a Superior IO-360 engine. I am installing a brass oil temperature sender. There are no instructions to add a lock washer, crush washer and no holes to safty wire it.

I looked in the Superior OH & installation manual, no joy. Also did not find anything in the VAF search engine.

Does anyone know if I need to install as is or what is recommended for safty.

Thanks for your help.

This sensor probably belongs to the airframe, not the engine, so it's not in the Superior manual...

I checked my Tiger Parts Manual, and they use a SW brass sensor like you describe.

The only washer called out is a MS 35769-1 Crush Washer. They also call out safety wire (0.032), and the sensor hex nut portion is drilled for a safety wire. The engine case should have a safety wire hole nearby.

At the wire (electrical) end, it shows a plain washer, split locking washer and plain nut - no part numbers since I believe these parts come with the sensor.

Hope this helps.... gil A
