Unhappy RV-8A Exhaust/Motor mount clearance

I have a concern about the clearance between the exhaust pipes and the motor mount where the exhaust exits the cowling. There is only .25" or so between the pipes and the mount in this area. It seems that any engine movement such as on start and shut down will cause the pipes to contact the mount???? I have considered wrapping the pipes in this area with a high temp. wrap available at auto parts.??? Comments???
