Default Dynon tach...

I have to adjust my Dynon tach setting but until I get my hands on a tach
meter I won't know if the setting is just right. I currently have it at "2"
but Dynon tech support says that you can actually set it at helf steps like
1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 etc... So my question is just to see if my fellow Dynon
engine monitor RVers can tell me what they have it set at. I realize it is
different if you have electronic mags or 6 vs. 4 cylinders. I have an
IO-390 (4 cylinder) which should put out the same number of pulses as the
IO-360. If you have a similar engine, can you tell me what yours is set
at? I will get a tach meter in the next couple days to get mine set just
right, but my curiosity is killing me! You can e-mail me direct or post it
here.

Hey Travis, Congratulations!
I was wondering if you'd flown yet, I noticed you received your AW.
Great job. Now the fun begins.

Regarding your pulse/revolution, I'm using a GRT EIS but the concept should be the same. A 4 cyl would either have a 1 or 2, 6 cyl a 1.5 or 3.
If it reads incorrectly, you should be off by 1/2 or double.
My XP-IO-360 is set to 1 for dual mags.

Email me offlist to give me an update. It'll be great to hear from you.
My 7A is flying great. I just completed my first Condition Inspection in June, and just installed the EZ-Pilot.

Hey Travis:

Congrats on the first flight! Pretty fun, huh?

You failed to mention how you are measuring pulses. Are you measuring straight off the mags or do you have a transducer?

I have the Van's transducer and Dynon EMS and it works like a champ. It took a little math to figure it out, but my setting is set to '4'

Best,
Jamie
