Default "Fat" Rivets

Seems like there was a thread about oversized rivets... not the "oops" type, but a rivet that falls between a 3 and a 4 for example.
Is there such a thing?

On the same track, I've heard about slightly squeezing a rivet to make it swell for an oversized hole. What's the technique for doing it? I seem to bend them over.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Sam,

NAS1241 for the flush head and NAS1242 for the universal head. Try www.gahco.com (advertize on this site and very nice people), or www.ecasinc.com. They're 1/64" fatter than an AN426 or AN470. Not cheap, but they've got me out of a jam on a few occasions. I've had moderate luck pre-squeezing rivets. Use a rivet that's slightly longer (obviously when they get fatter, they get shorter). Put it dead-center between the dies in a hand squeezer and be subtle about it. I can only do it up to about a -5. Anything longer and they bend before they expand.

Hope this helps.

Default Thanks!

Thanks, Tom.
That's just what I was looking for.
