Question Infinity Grip

For those of you that have an Infinity Grip; What is the black wire for that is tied down to the top of the wire bundle? There is no mention of it at all in the instructions.

Default the black wire

I called and asked JD the owner of infinity about that because I could not figure it out either. It is some kind of extra ground. I don't rembember the full explantion, but he told me that I could cut if off if I wanted to.

Thanks, I thought it was something like that but wanted to be sure before I closed everything up. JD could probably save himself some phone calls if he would just make a note about it in the instructions.
