Seat heater group buy from last year question?

I am finally getting around to putting the seat heaters (from the group buy last year) in. I cut the foam out and had someone make pockets for the heaters to slip in and out if one quits working or something. Haven't called the manufactuer yet to ask this question, because maybe someone else knows or has asked?
There are some peel away sticky sides to them. Does this have to be peeled away and stuck to the inside of the seats or can they be left with this on and not be affected by the heating elements? I don't want to stick them to the inside if I can help it in case they need to be removed in the future. Thanks. Dave
